Gentle Giant

Image
He is truly a gentle giant. He will rough house like crazy with the other pup his size and even hurdle my daughters walker with a running start. Yet despite all the crazy zoomies and running, they NEVER run her over no matter where she's walking with her walker. THAT is control! He'll let my 5 year old do ANYTHING to him and just give her kisses. When I try some cute aggression, he'll do a play growl and let me know if he's not enjoying it. But her? ANYTHING.

Ready for Christmas

This handsome boy is ready for Christmas and adoption of course. Tried to see how steady he would hold and tolerate this bow. He did it without a treat! Look at his handsome face! He's funny, sometimes he quite attentive, but sometimes he could care less. He's doing really well with "leave it" and "wait" command. when we give the other pups water, he will stand and wait without any fight. When he's a little TOO curious with the cat, he knows to back off when we ask. If not, he's gotten the 1,2 punch from the cat and he backs off. lol  He's also very husky when he selectively listens. He HEARS you, for sure. Again, definitely someone who can show him pack leader energy, because he will test the waters like a toddler.  All in good fun. He is kind and loving and truly a great character husky. Definitely super warm and soft to snuggle with!

Husky everywhere!!!

It's been another couple weeks since his last brush, and oh boy we combed out another dog size pile. But he's so silky smooth after! He's learning to be so calm and laid back for these sessions, they have improved. Now trimming his paws on the other hand was not as successful. We'll have to try more exposure theory. As a dog though, the noise and vibration of the blade could definitely be quite foreign and scary. I get it! Ryder is amazing on walks. There is so much leash slack. Now, true to husky form, when he hears birds in the bushes, or a rabbit running out, he'll definitely give you a good pull.  I still say that, yes he talks back, he'll play growl, and he'll howl and yell at you when you leave him. But for a husky, he's quite reserved. He only barks and howls when we leave for work or our grocery trips. But I've checked in on cameras while other dogs are barking out the window and he's completely unphased and passed out.  We've been wo...
